Senior QA Engineer

Remote position, Austin, TX preferred. 

Due to potential Federal contract requirements, applicants must be US citizens. 

ThreatWarrior is a growing Cybersecurity technology company. As a Senior QA Engineer, you will set up and establish the test infrastructure, taking ownership of the end to end testing processes and improve the level and efficiency of automation testing across all products and services. You'll partner with software developers and other engineering teams to establish test requirements and advise on the best testing solution, automating wherever possible. 

Your day to day responsibilities 

  • Monitor, maintain and improve the quality of software testing tools, applications and framework 
  • Carry out root cause analysis; 
  • Conduct exploratory testing; planning testing from early development stages and ensuring timely delivery of high quality product releases.
  • Design, create,  and implement test plans
  • Design, create, and maintain detailed test steps as part of your test plan
  • Work with the engineering team to plan out releases and design test plans in accordance with those releases
  • Train and mentor junior QA analysts 
  • Design, create, and maintain data validations of your test plan
  • Bring strong record-keeping skills using Zephyr Scale, Zephyr Test, and Zephyr Squad
  • Create and maintain automated tests for both UI and APIs
  • Create and maintain manual tests
  • Work daily using the JIRA defect tracking system
  • Be comfortable writing automated test cases with Java, NodeJS, and/or Golang
  • Be comfortable with databases such as MongoDB and Elasticsearch

What you bring to the Team 

You have experience 

You will have experience testing web applications, setting up and configuring various network and cybersecurity scenarios to verify and validate functionality. 

Candidates must be comfortable in a start-up environment, must be self-starters, and must effectively represent ThreatWarrior. The ideal candidate will be coming from a position where they have developed the confidence and independence to take ownership of manual and automated test design and execution.

You have strong QA skills 

  • Strong QA testing experience including both manual and automation techniques 
  • Experience in managing and executing end-to-end QA testing including associated documentation 
  • Good working knowledge of Build and Release processes, ideally including CI/CD
  • Experience within an Agile development environment 
  • Able to take ownership of an automation framework using languages, frameworks, and tools such as NodeJs, Java, Selenium, and Cucumber
  • Collaborative team member with advanced communication skills.
